Honorary members

Honorary members are appointed by the General Members' Meeting upon the proposal of the board. The nomination is made because these individuals have been of special significance to the Association.

Below are the current honorary members of the Association:

• Mr. J. van Winkelen, treasurer from 1986 to 2004
• Mr. H. Kroes, ice master from 1970 and chairman from 1994 to 2007
• Mr. J. Lolkama, writer and expert on the history of the Elfstedentocht
• Mr. H. Dijkstra, secretary of the Association from 1997 to 2017
• Mr. H. van der Werf, competition and tour leader from 1998 to 2016
• Mr. G. Bootsma, rayon manager of Hindeloopen, founder of the skating museum in Hindeloopen
• Mrs. O. Mulder, board member for safety from 2007 to 2022
• The late Mr. G.W. van den Ham, race director from 1971 to 1998, also an honorary member of the Association
• The late Mr. J.S. Sipkema, chairman from 1984 to 1994, also an honorary member of the Association
• The late Mr. G.G. Witsen Elias, secretary of the Association from 1963 to 1997, also an honorary member of the Association
