Our chairman, Wiebe Wieling, wrote this year’s Grut Frysk Diktee. On April 8, twenty individual participants who had qualified on their own merits got to work on the dictation. In addition, five teams competed against each other. This year’s teams consisted of Well-Known Frisians, final-year Frisian exam students from CSG Bogerman in Sneek, nature enthusiasts (Natuerminsken), the brass band De Hegemer Dekdweilers, and “our” regional heads.
The regional heads team included: Cor Schotanus, Bram de Vries, Klaas Abma, Harrie Siegersma, Alco de Jong and Nynke Eerligh.
The Grut Frysk Diktee was won by Rikele Hollema from Earnewâld. He made only four mistakes.
Among the teams, the Natuerminsken emerged as the winners, followed by the brass band De Hegemer Dekdweilers. The regional heads claimed a well-deserved third place!
