Safety first

First aid

Along the route, there are numerous first aid stations staffed by a (general) doctor, a first aid responder, and a member of the Red Cross communication team. These stations are fully equipped to provide first aid services.

Emergency number and urgent advice

112 remains the (dutch) central number for urgent calamities on and around the ice. If the mobile phone network fails, communication will be handled through the first aid stations. All first aid stations are equipped with a landline and an independent radio network.

You are strongly advised to carry your personal information, including contact details and any relevant medical history, such as medication use, in an easily accessible place. For example, in a clearly visible spot in your wallet.
