He has never experienced the Elfstedentocht himself and first learned about it through a comic book. But Belgian master’s student Idris David became intrigued by the phenomenon of the “Tour of all Tours.” He is now conducting research on it as part of his Master’s in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Leuven.
